We woke up to a grey, drizzly day! Even though the UK has had one of their wettest summer’s, this sort of weather behaviour is not something that we’re used to, thank you very much.

Our destination today is the villages of Northiam & Beckley, home to our maternal side – to be exact, my mother’s mother’s mother’s mother’s mother’s line (and beyond) – they all come from this little tiny East Sussex area.
It’s not too far from Tunbridge Wells, so we filled our day with looking at castles… through the rain… from the carpark.
This one is Scotney Castle.

This one is Bodiam Castle

This is what it looks like on a lovely day.

Now this is not something that you see everyday in a supermarket… that’s right, you’re seeing that correctly – sequinned top and pant suits… in the supermarket.

Then we headed to our little BnB.
These are clearly not my photos… not with that bluish sky.

Besides the comfy coziness and the amazing green outlook, this is my favourite thing about the dowager cottage – this lovely window frosting…

I thought rain in England was of the quickly passing variety? No ? I seem to have forgotten these things. Loved the dresses in the Supermarket, trust you girls to find these things given a few minutes whilst looking for milk and bread ! Keen to see what you get up to in the next few days..

It has been like that with the rain TD, but on this day – she set in and just non stop drizzled.
the real question that must be answered is which sequinned number did you purchase for future viewings … make no mistake, the expectation is real!!!
I’m sad to say that no purchases were made. With no trying on facilities, and not wanting to drop my pants so close to the fruit and veg aisle, I had to walk away. I did try the top on though and it looked ridiculous.
