Our morning looked a little foggy… and we passed some interesting looking things along the way to Regensburg.

We started off the day (11.30am) with a special Bavarian lunch – complete with huge beers as big as Jenny’s head. She could hardly hold it up with her little arms. They had a buffet of all sorts of German foods and I have to say that the cheese sausage gave the Brand Highway a run for it’s money!

We decided to skip the guided tour today and head out on our own and walked towards to the old bridge.

Passing some lovely art along the way… Any art buffs want to help me out on what this might be?

This is the place where they serve the 3 snags in a bun, so we’ll come back to that later – we’ve just eaten a Bavarian buffet!

You always have to check out the church/cathedral in town – they started building this in 1225.

The church square… can you find Me Jenny?

There she is – wearing her new pretty scarf!

We came across the Bäckerei and I said to Me Jen, pop yourself over there and pretend you’re looking for the bakery – like in the song…
🎶 “Wo ist die Bäckerei? die Bäckerei? die Bäckerei? Wo ist die Bäckerei? Es liegt gegenĂĽber der Post” 🎵
When she walked across the street there were no other people there, then she turned around and, in true Jen style – she’d brought the crowd! They too were searching for the bächerei!

So back we walked to the snag place and ordered ourselves a couple of well earned shandies. The little buns were not to be eaten at the tables, they were take away only, so we sat and drank our tankards of shandy and then I went and ordered to complete the comparison.

I did have to eat it whilst walking back to the ship, which shouldn’t go against them, but my verdict is that Nuremberg’s sausage bun dish was better.
Now back to the ship for the oompah band!
hahaha… I’d die for that beer and those sausages you keep mentioning… I’d like a movie of you both staggering back to the boat…. Jen won’t want to come home, mate I wouldn’t blame her…,love and hugs xxx
