Herberton Historical Village is amazing! I love all things historical and old and so do my lovely friends Shell & Greg, so be prepared to step back in time…..this post is mainly for them, but you’re all welcome to enjoy.
From the Historical Herberton Village website: Back in the 1950s, many relics were being sold off for scrap metal. Old buildings were being condemned for demolition. Collector Harry Skennar had a vision – to preserve history for generations to come. He set about creating The Village back in 1973, bringing the first building, Elderslie House, onto the site beside Wild River.
This open air museum is set out like a town – each building housing different things from the past – ie: the record shop, the photography shop, the sewing shop…..
