Barkly Homestead is a remote roadhouse on the Barkly Highway – an oasis for travellers heading in both directions. It has fantastic powered and unpowered sites and camping space plus a pool!!! A bar and restaurant and live music. It was a great vibe.
We had a great meal and were serenaded by Drew Blundell a seasoned country singer – he had a beautiful soulful voice. Very easy to listen to and he sang both types of music – country AND western!
We were joined by a lovely couple from Victoria who were very interested in Fern. She certainly is creating a stir around the parks.

A green oasis…

There is a chain link snake in amongst the cactus… Deb is not screaming because of the cactus.
Happy hour at Barkly offers $5 glasses of wine…. It wasn’t great, but it was $5.

This is where we met Lenny – a chap cycling on a recumbent bike to raise money and awareness for Men’s Mental Health after his Digga took his own life. Here’s his FB page if you’re interested. Doin it for digga
