Fern meets family and friends

After our fab week in Gerringong it was time for us to head north. We didn’t go far though as we had a little stop in at Campbelltown to see cousins, Daniel, Alex, Clarence and Sammy.

Alex took me to Musical Bingo and Trivia with her friends

And Daniel and Alex here great host/guides taking me into Sydney for the day…. We caught the light rail… checked out the new fish markets which is an awesome new building looking down over the tired, yet iconic blue building… we ate all the seafood… caught the light rail again… popped into the casino… caught a ferry into Circular Quay and enjoyed the sunset with some beverages at the Opera House. It was a lovely day before catching the train home – I’m really impressed with all of Sydney’s transit options. So easy.

Next stop was heading up to the Blue Mountains, a place I haven’t been for about 32 years, so wanted to see if the Three Sisters had changed. It’s a lovely drive up there and no, they haven’t changed however the lookout facilities have improved somewhat.

I cooked my first breakfast in the van – a bit of scrambled eggs and toast, very nice thank you very much. Stayed at one of the only two caravan parks up there…not awesome, but did the job. Visited some water falls and ordered a pane chocolat on my way out… not a patch on Remi French Cafe in Geraldton!

Next stop was to visit my beautiful friends, Bec & Jason. I used to live with these two crazy cats back in the 90s when overalls and converse were all the rage. They now have two gorgeous grown up daughters and 3 lovely dogs….. and they still have my dryer from the house we lived in and it’s still going strong! How’s that for a testimonial.

They took me to their fave Vietnamese restaurant… (let me know if you can work out the meaning of what’s written on the water bottle) and I got to spend the morning with Bec just chatting as if years and years hadn’t passed.

I love these guys – big time ❤️

Time to move north again… this time to collect a companion!
