Packed up and ready to go after our stay at the Litchfield Safari Camp we had one more fall to visit – Walker Creek.
All the info said that it was much quieter than the other falls and this helped to make it our favourite in the whole park. The walk up to the swimming hole was easy with a few steps, and a relatively easy ‘get in’ with some getting down some rocks.
We had the whole place to ourselves for a good 45 mins and as we got out and started collecting our things, 3 families with very small kids arrived. Someone was smiling down on us this day.
There was a quick visit into Berry Springs – another natural spring just outside Litchfield on the way into Darwin. A great day trip from the big smoke of Darwin and on this day – I think Darwin was probably empty. So as we were still dripping from Walker Creek, we chose not to have a swim and instead head into Darwin and get ourselves sorted.
This was to be Deb’s final night on the Fern Adventure and as we’d had such an amazing time together, this was a sad occasion…. although she was itching to get home to her puppy, Chloe (and her husband, Jason)
We treated ourselves to an all you can eat seafood buffet which turned out to be not much seafood and more of a curry situation, so not great, but the view was amazing…
We got to catch up with our friends’ daughter and her brand new baby… I don’t have permission to share a pic of of the gorgeous bundle, so I’ll just say that she was GORGEOUS! Then it was time to drop Deb at the airport and say goodbye…
Deb has been such an awesome travel companion… so easy, going with the flow, making the coffee in the morning and climbing to the highest waterfalls. There’s nothing she won’t do and if there’s something she doesn’t want to do – she says “I’m not doing that!”.
