Neither Jodie nor I had been to Karijini before and it was on both our wish lists, so I was excited when I found out she was going to be joining me so we could add this stop to our trip home. Jodie was so excited she even dressed in the Pilbara colours for the event.
Fern is handling the trip like the absolute legend that she is.
This is the road up through the Hamersley Ranges. These ranges are amazing… billions of years old and so huge no photo that I was going to take was going to do it justice.
We were staying at the Karijini Eco Retreat – Jodie in a clamping tent and me in Fern not too far away. This camping spot is right near Joffre Gorge – walking distance to the look out and you can climb down into it. You can’t swim though…
We wandered to the lookout just before sunset.
Pretty stunning as far as gorges go.
