Karijini – Dales Gorge

We had driven past the road into Dales Gorge on Day 1, but decided to save it for a fresh full day to explore, but the first stop of the day was the lookout at Knox Gorge…

Check this out! I mean….

You can climb to the bottom of the Knox Gorge, but it’s a level 5 and that just seems a little bit tricky.

So, off to Dales Gorge and it did not disappoint!

Look at the way they cut the metal walk way to fit the natural shape of the rock.

Fortesque Falls

We thought the falls were spectactuar until we passed a lady who told us to keep walking around to Fern Pool… how aptly named.

We followed this path…

Until we came to this beautiful spot.

People were swimming here, but we decided to just sit and take it all in.

Back down to look at Fortesque Falls again

Apart from the lack of thong backed bathers, this reminded me of that scene from Crocodile Dundee.

We were sitting admiring the view when a lovely young lady came and asked if we’d like our photo taken. I gave her my phone and she raced up the steps with it. There was a very small split moment when I thought ‘that was dumb’, but she took some lovely pics and was very lovely.

Honestly, if Jodie weren’t wearing blue shoes, I’d be hard pressed to find her in this environment.
