It’s ok everyone… I found the pretty part of Margate. It’s on the other side from where we are staying.

These benches all have carved memorials on them. What a fantastic idea and a great place to have them. Some had flowers attached, some had fresh flowers placed, some had people sitting having their lunch.
I shared the photo above with my London friends and found out that a lovely lady I knew in London, Danielle… she was a friend of mine, but also a much closer friend of those London friends, who very sadly passed away at the beginning of Covid. Danielle was from Margate and this is the beach where her family scattered her ashes. A perfect spot. 💕

As we drove around today we tried to keep the ocean in our sights…

There was a big mist that rolled in from the sea… possibly the Mull of Kintyre.
It’s good to know that on this beach you CAN ride merry go round horses, but you CAN’T do karaoke!

Along the coast a bit, in Whitstable, we found ourselves at this lovely little cafe & gift shop – Quite Contrary for our last cream tea.
The cream tea was A+ and you can do a jigsaw swap, play games at the table and there was even a little crossword book with a pen so you can add in the words you know.
I almost purchased the little plate of sandwiches ear rings until somebody pointed out that they are not brie and grape!

Your love of the sea shows! Well done by Danielle’s family by scattering the ashes in parts she loved. Always sad to lose a dear friend.
